Postcards from Passover: Life’s about Death and Birth (Day 7)

Some days you remember forever and ever. This spring I had one of those days.

These holidays all liberation
whether we rise up or out
life’s somehow about death and birth.

I was in a meeting
for the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire
104th commemoration
all the young girls who
died in that fire what life can be
my phone pinged (most people say dinged)
picture in the text a sonogram
from Noah hard to tell
what it was
this is our daughter
Noah said I left the meeting
crying what does life look like
how it happens how quickly it goes away
brown sonogram is my granddaughter
20 weeks old she will have a life
and we will stand nearby
