Ko Un complicates life. It "has this emptiness" which is more often referred to as "the void". It is what we discover when we ask "Why am I?" because the question has no answer. We can try to fill it but the consequence as we can see, is self-destruction. "In opposition to it" is the "ideal reaction to the void" which is to "reach out to the limits of our capacities, to others and to God." The consequence is self-realization, becoming what we are capable of being, Un's "is-ness". The "zero concept" is "much to do about nothing." http://www.thelastwhy.ca/poem/
I don't so agree with " the void" of your concept...to me, the emptiness is not same as void.
Its a space where "you-id" doesn't exist, therefore its space of "silence" where "spirit" dwells.
What he meant by we are poem I think is that we feel our innate spirit music, the rhythm, the dance if our soul, if we allow it to be free in that "zero" ness. in that "zero" ness....we are all that we are.
