Not every religious organization has an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy, but the online success of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may make them a model for public relations efforts online.

The Washington Post reports that of any religious group, LDS.org is the most-visited website. Since 2007, according to SEO consultant Justin Briggs who wrote “Breaking Down the Mormon SEO Strategy,” the LDS website has been targeting religious search terms such as “church,” “scripture,” and “Jesus Christ” but also has focused on terms such as “friend” and “young women” and “chastity” — all with great success. In fact, LDS.org ranks right behind MTV.com in the total number of external links, with more than three-and-a-half million. That’s impressive to many industry experts, and it also may be one of the better ways to fulfill the Church’s mission of outreach to non-LDS members.

That's what they've always been about. Promotion and growing numbers.  Nothing new about the LDS using newest technology or sales techniques to do it, either,  It's become cool among the media and others to show how open-minded they are, to say something positive about the Mormons these days.  Proof that the Mormon church PR machine is alive and well.  They have examined the market, changed tactics and they are making it work.  I don't condone ignorant mormon bashing, but I do think it is a good idea to examine all these things in context. I grew up in the Mormon culture too, and am grateful to have escaped. It is not an easy process, either on the personal level, or in relations with Mormon family or with the church letting you go,

Developing a search engine optimization strategy requires careful thought. Before you get started with SEO, make sure you know the basic principles.

If people feel that they are getting a good value they will be more
likely to shop for the company in the future. Rewarding customer loyalty is
another thing that companies do not do often enough for it to be effective.
Special discounts for members of social networking websites is another option.

Wow, great article, I really appreciate your thought process and having it explained properly, thank you!

Amazing how simple it can be to communicate with people and have them understand a certain topic, you made my day.

There
is an inherent issue with content; engagement is often greatest with trivial
messages. This does make you question the quality of some people lives but
focus on the big picture; dialogue keeps the channel open so play the game.

Building a proper promotion plan also performs an important role in
increasing the number of customers. With the introduction of internet
promotion, it has become possible to become visible among prospects and
also to satisfy the objectives of the existing customers online.

Haha... Now it's not war that converts you to religion it's SEO. Great!
