Thank you for the translation of the prayer. The part about not going astray brought to mind Isaiah 53:6.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Christians (are supposed to) believe that everyone goes astray and everyone deserves the wrath of God/Allah, but Jesus Christ accepted His wrath on our behalf. So they don't have to strive to please God enough to avoid His anger.
The author felt that forgiveness and acceptance. But it does not come from the practice of Islam, Catholicism or any other religion. It comes from God.
