Compassion, I think, is a feeling and is produced by chemicals in the brain. To think that having compassion is good and not having compassion is bad is judgement. For me, in some situations, based upon my life experiences, I feel intense compassion. Other times, I feel nothing. In some situations where I feel vulnerable and open to reality, my feelings of compassion do not increase nor decrease. There are many unpredictable variables in life.
