“In [all] ways, our religious traditions give us guidance about the lack of working together..." Precisely. If we were "working together" we wouldn't have "our religious traditions". If anything, politics is the science of disagreement.
In my view "we are called to", "reach out to the limits of our capacities, to others and to God." This is the ideal reaction to the void found under "Why am I?", "the last why". The ideal leads to individual and collective self-realization. Adding religion and politics for example to the ideal diminishes it and to the extent we add we replace self-realization with self-destruction.
