To sustain their life style and beliefs, Native Americans say 'No' to most outside influences. A group must say no to outside influences if they want to keep their beliefs and philosophy as intended, They said yes early on and see what it got them. I am an Irish American 5th generation. I work in a high school that is run by the Tribal Council and a School Board. Native Americans have to do what they must to keep their families, schools, reservations in their philosophical control or they will lose what little they have left to call their own. The U.S. government is still trying to assimilate all into their mind meld.
