I listened with interest this AM to your conversation and honor the devotion your guest gives to compassion, empathy. I was disappointed - but of course not surprised - that no attention at all was paid by either of you, specially you, to the effect of over population on suffering. It is obvious that too many people leads to conditions that produce hunger, sickness, crime, wars. Those who suffer from these "horsemen" deserve all the help and compassion possible. But wouldn't it make sense, be logical, and compassionate to offer, promote, practices (birth control) that would reduce the causes of over population BEFORE it happens? For you and many religions to avoid the subject helps no one. As well, ostrich-like religion loses credibility.(I prefer not to give my name: there are maniacs who believe that those who think as I do deserve death).
