When either science or humanities insists that the "new" can only be found within the limits of the paradigm they know, things get dangerous and stagnant. In religion that is called idolatry. To create something new, you have to listen to what your paradigm tells you and then allow your imagination to open up your consciousness to something your paradigm points to, but that is not contained within it, nor can it be fully described by it. The paradigm becomes a finger pointing at the moon. Integration of the objective and subjective move outside of the limitations of either. Reality is always a mystery and always beyond whatever way we find to define it. This is the common ground of science and humanities.
