In a recent column in The Irish Catholic, a well known Catholic priest commented that he would have been a better priest if he had been married, in response the journalist replying to this comment said that was an unknown, for instance he may have married someone who either didn't love him or someone who might have fallen out of love with him...if such things are possible. He might have found himself in an abusive relationship!
What I fail to understand Diane is why would Jesus having a wife imply an authentic spiritual life. Does this mean that a single celibate man or woman is doomed to living an inauthentic spirituality?
