The EAAF is the non-profit organization Mercedes Doretti co-founded when investigating cases of disappeared individuals from the Argentinian Dirty War. The organization now operates in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
This website includes an extensive list of individuals who disappeared — called desaparecidos — during the Dirty War, including photos. Each person's photo links to a page with more information about them (Spanish only).
The Mothers and Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo are an Argentinean activist group that played a key role in motivating many of the reparations after the Dirty War.

Doretti is co-founder and senior researcher of the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team (EAAF). She received a MacArthur "genius" grant for her work in 2007.
Partnoy is an associate professor of Spanish at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She is a poet, memoirist, and human rights activist.
