The National Center on Alcohol and Substance Abuse:

Site of organization founded by Califano which provides publications and resources focused on preventing and combatting the abuse of alcohol, nicotine, illegal drugs, prescription drugs, and performance enhancing drugs.

Pew Survey Report:

A survey entitled "Religion and Politics: Contention and Consensus" jointly developed by the Pew Forum and the Pew Research Center. Released on July 24, 2003.

    Joseph A. Califano, Jr.

    Califano is president of the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. He was Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare from 1977 to 1979, and is the author of a memoir, Inside: A Public and Private Life.
