Chaplain Major John Morris is a Methodist pastor and has been an Army chaplain since 1984. He's based in Fort Snelling with the Minnesota Army National Guard, and works for a program that he helped found called Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. It supports the reintegration to civilian life of members of the National Guard. He grew up in the military and describes the spiritual journey which led him to become an Army chaplain at the age of 23.

Chaplain Major John Morris has served two tours of active duty, most recently in Iraq in 2004. As an Army chaplain he's answered to the spiritual needs of all soldiers, regardless of religion, denomination, or non-religion. He's also served as a kind of ambassador for Christianity to Iraqi Muslims.
